As I was editing this session I was longing for beautiful fall days. How I miss the warm weather and sunshine already. We had a great time with Emily and Ryan when we did their engagement session. We did a few photos with their dog. They brought a few props to personalize their session. Love it when couples do that or choose a location that means a lot to them. They told us the story of how they met and how they were engaged. Thought we would share! How they met:One night Emily's girlfriends were going out to the local bar ( Swazeee's ) and she didn't feel like going. It was a Friday night and she just wanted to put her feet up and relax from a long day at work. So she was sitting around the kitchen table chatting with her mom over a glass of wine, and her friend came through the front door. She kept bugging her to go, but Emily kept saying no. Her mom finally dragged her out of her seat and she gave in and went for some drinks. They went to the local bar and socialized with friends. Ryan came up to her reaching out to shake her hand and said, "Hi my name is Ryan, nice to meet you." And ever since that night they have been inseparable!
How they got engaged:She came home from work Friday night knowing that it was girls night and she was going to have some drinks. Instead Ryan kept insisiting that he was craving perch for dinner and wanted to go to Port Dover soooo badly. She just kept saying, "Just call one of your friends because I am going out." And he kept telling her how he just wanted to go with her. So after a little debating she gave in and said, "Let's make it fast because I can't wait to see my friends." So they drove to Port Dover and were walking towards the restaurant and he wanted to see the water first so he stopped and went on one knee and asked her to marry him. She was in complete shock and just stood there for a while until he had to ask again and then she said, "Yes!" Ryan told her after that he knew it was her girls night but he ordered and designed her ring 3 months ago and it came in that morning and he was too excited to wait another day! He said he wanted to ask her in Port Dover because that is where they had their first kiss, and Port Dover was always their spot.Congrats Emily and Ryan on your engagement. Sounds like you need to listen when people really want you to come out with them Emily. Seems to bring great things for you! Can't wait to photograph your June wedding. Doesn't sound like she will need much convincing from anyone to be there that day!
