The birth of beautiful baby Nicole

What an amazing experience this was!  It was such an honor to be able to share in such a beautiful moment in a couple's life.  As with any birth you never know what will happen and this birth did not go the way Krista and Chris had planned but in the end they had their beautiful daughter Nicole and they were smiling from ear to ear.  Krista was induced and was in labour for many hours but in the end delivered by c-section.  It turned out that the baby was wrapped in her cord and could not come out.  Even though I was not able to photograph the actual birth due to it being a c-section it was such an emotional night that I will never forget.  I watched as she endured labour pains, as Chris rubbed her back and they shared very touching moments together.  When they found out about the possibility of having a c-section it was an emotional time for them.  Tears were shed but Krista was a trooper.  I sat for quite a while with her family as they waited for the c-section to be done and for the birth of their grandchild.  Krista's mom paced the hallways worried about her daughter as any mother would be.  We waited and waited for Chris to come and tell us the news of the birth of their son or daughter.  They had waited for that surprise for nine months.  There was hugging, kissing and so much love in that room.  I was so happy for them!  Then they all got to meet baby Nicole and watch as she was weighed and measured.  It was a very late night or very early morning for all of them.  I loved being able to capture beautiful moments, happy moments, scared moments, sad moments and I hope to be able to photograph many more births in the future.  Congratulations Krista and Chris on the newest member of your family and thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of the amazing milestone's in your life!
